Beauty Education at Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) provides aspiring makeup artists and estheticians with an opportunity to gain the necessary knowledge and skills for success. LWTech’s Esthetician Program is designed to provide students with the technical competency and expertise needed to become certified practitioners in the beauty industry. The curriculum emphasizes a wide range of topics such as skin anatomy, facial massage, waxing, facial treatments, product chemistry, and salon business management. Through classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and hands-on clinical experience, students explore the latest techniques and practices used to care for and beautify skin. The program culminates with a State of Washington Board of Barbering and Cosmetology–approved externship. The externship provides students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience as they perform professional services on salon clients. Students can take advantage of LWTech’s financial aid and scholarship opportunities to help pay for the cost of their education. LWTech also offers its career services center, which provides job search assistance, employer contacts, and résumé review for students. After graduating from the program, students are eligible to apply for licensure from the state.
